The Serpent & Dove name orginates from the instruction of Jesus Christ to his followers as he sent them to represent him; 'be prudent as serpents, but harmless as doves' (recorded in chapter 10, verse 16 of Matthew's gospel in the New Testament). The name was chosen in 1984 to remind the founders, Rob Miner (now deceased) and Ian Heard of their priorities and faith. The business is now owned by Ian and his son, Adrian who is a Sydney University honours graduate in mechanical engineering.
